
Joseph Laferrera concentrates on serving the high-tech community in all aspects of the litigation and appellate process. He has represented large and small clients in a variety of matters, including matters involving computer applications, software development and intellectual property issues. In addition to his traditional litigation responsibilities, Mr. Laferrera heads the firm's Employment Law practice area, providing counseling and litigation assistance to both employers and executives.
Mr. Laferrera earned his J.D. at Boston University School of Law, from which he graduated magna cum laude in 1993. While at Boston University, Mr. Laferrera served as the managing editor of the Boston University International Law Journal. Mr. Laferrera received his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College, where he majored in computer science and philosophy.
Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Laferrera worked as a software developer at the law firm of Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett in New York, assisted in the development of software and database applications at Bank of Boston, and served as a system administrator and research intern at Bell Telephone Laboratories.
